Sicily Trapani Airport
Trapani-Birgi Airport is also known as Vincenzo Florio Airport - named after the Sicilian wine industrialist and automobile enthusiast Vincenzo Florio.
It is the third busiest airport in Sicily and is also used for military issues. Because it is a military and civilian airport its handling tariffs are 30-40% less than those applied in other Sicilian airports including Palermo Airport and Catania Airport
The airport opened in the early 1960s as a military airport and was launched as a new civilian airport in 2003 with the construction of a new passenger terminal building. It is situated 20 km south west of the beautiful and historic town of Trapani. It handles some of the low-cost connections flights and over 507,000 passengers passed through its doors last year.

Buses at Trapani Airport
There is a bus service from Trapani Airport which operates to and Trapani town, Marsala, Palermo, Mazara del Vallo, Castelvetrano, Erice, Sciacca and Agrigento at regular intervals.
You can buy a bus ticket in the arrivals hall. The bus company is AST and you will see their bus stop with a timetable right outside the the front of the arrivals hall. Single fare tickets cost €1.70 for the 20 minute journey and the bus from the airport stops at the train station/bus station in Trapani and also at the port. On the return trip the tickets can be bought on the bus.

There is no train services from Trapani Airport, but the AST bus links the airport to the railway station in the centre of town.
